THIS IS AN OLD REVIEW CONVERTED OVER TO THE NEW DATABASE, TABLES MAY SHOW UP WITH EXTRA SPACES
PRODUCT: KeyGhost ML
MANUFACTURER: Interface Security, Ltd. (http://www.KeyGhost.com)
WHERE TO BUY: MJP Computers (http://www.MJPComputers.com)
If you have not already read the review for the KeyGhost II Standard, please read that first as it will give you an introduction and background on the KeyGhost product. We did not list any testing done on this product, as the results were exactly as the KeyGhost II Standard (except for the download speed).
Interface Security, Ltd. has broadened their horizons by introducing the KeyGhost ML. As the first recipient of this product, we were going to make sure that this review set the standard. This new version of the KeyGhost line of products does not offer the "playback" feature as the KeyGhost II line. Instead, you must use the "Turbo Download Adapter" to retrieve the keystrokes - and for one good reason. The KeyGhost ML can log keystrokes in different languages! The "ML" stands for "Multi-Language", making this the KeyGhost to bring along during a vacation.
The KeyGhost ML module appears just like its cousin, the KeyGhost II. The external "EMC-balun" style version requires you to plug one side into the keyboard, and the other into the computer. Very easy, very simple. But unlike the KeyGhost II, the Turbo Download Adapter must be used, in conjunction with the KeyGhost ML Downloader software. This free software is what gives the KeyGhost ML its amazing power.

The Turbo Download Adapter makes for a quick retrieval and exit when you are in that tight time limit. It took a little while (almost a week), but we finally filled the large, 94,230 character buffer found on the KeyGhost ML Standard model. We hooked the KeyGhost to the TDA, and the full buffer and processing time took just about 2 minutes. This is excellent, considering the output is displayed in a graphical format (not just simple text).
After the KeyGhost data has been retrieved, you can use the software to clear it up, and then you make your exit. Re attach it to the PS/2 keyboard (or AT, with converter), and it will begin logging again. Meanwhile, the software KeyGhost ML software does its magic. As this is the "ML" version, you may need to change the display language. An easy change through a drop-down list, and the software re-processes the data. Then, you get to see it in a different language.
Right now, the KeyGhost ML software can change handle any English, any other European language, Arabic, and Hebrew. New languages are being added all the time. If you need to have a language not included, the friendly folks at Interface Security, Ltd. will be glad to assist you.

Keep in mind that the software doesn't "translate." If someone writes in Russian, you can't change the KeyGhost ML software to English, and expect to be able to read it. It converts the keystrokes to display them properly. The people behind KeyGhost are extremely friendly, and are always open to suggestions. If you want to see some features (additional language, other updates, etc...), send them a line.
As with the KeyGhost II models, you can integrate this one into a keyboard. Although, it is not recommended if you plan to use it different regions (as different areas of the world do have different keyboards). As it is available in the same external model as the KeyGhost II, and is inconspicuous, you "high-tech spies" should be just fine. Remember, just with all "privacy invasion" products, please check laws to make sure you are within your rights. KeyGhost products do not necessarily need to be used for spying. They serve as a great back-up tool, monitor device for children, monitor over employees, hacking protection, and there are plenty of other uses. If you are not in the need for a multi-language capable one, the KeyGhost II Standard lines offers the playback features (check out our other review). If you do need to be able to capture keystrokes in different languages, then this is definitely your product.
Undetectable by software, virtually unnoticeable, and no software necessary (so it will work on any keyboard that you can plug this into, and doesn't depend on the operating system) - this is the best product out there to do what it does.
FINAL RATING: EXCELLENT!!! 10 / 10
