Los Angeles, CA - Widow of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, Majel Barrett-Roddenberry passed away in her home on Thursday...

Majel Barrett was well known for her voice of the various Star Trek ship computers, and as Nurse Christine Chapel on the original series. She also appeared in various episodes of Star Trek, as well as other television series.

Barrett was the executive producer of both "Earth: Final Conflict" as well as "Andromeda," shows which were created from the notes and ideas left by the late Gene Roddenberry.

Earlier this month, on December 9, 2008, Roddenberry Productions announced that she would be providing the voice of the ship's computer once again, this time for the 2009 motion picture relaunch of Star Trek. Sean Rossall, Roddenberry family spokesman, stated that she had already completed the voiceover work around December 4th, 2008.

Majel Barrett-Roddenberry will be missed.
