After tossing the box around, we decided it was time to lay out the case and see what we were up against. Keep in mind that this is Lucite, and we had to be very careful every step of the way. The micro-ATX version of the ClearPC is supplied with:

  • micro-ATX case

  • an LED for your hard drive (Red)

  • an LED for your power (Green)

  • two momentary switches with a red button (for power and reset)

  • 4x screws for motherboard with retaining nut and Lucite standoff

  • 4x screws for hard drive (internal bay)

  • 4x screws for CD-ROM drive (5.25" bay)

  • 4x screws for floppy drive (3.5" bay)

  • 4x screws for power supply

  • 4x screws for AGP/PCI slots

  • 4x fancy retention nut for side panel (pre-installed)

  • 4x clear rubber case feet (come installed)

Remember that this is the ultimate micro-ATX case design, with one 5.25" bay, one 3.5" bay, and one hard drive bay. If you wanted to have a CD-Writer and a DVD-ROM, and a ZIP drive and a floppy drive, this is not your case. ClearPC is available in a full-tower (we have not reviewed this), and you might be better off with that.

Since this case is designed to be shown off, you want it to look clean and pristine. This means extra care must be taken in every single step. We can tell you, we did make a major mistake which resulted in a few small scratches, lucky for us that they are on the backside, almost unnoticeable.

On to the assembly process...
