TITLE: What's the Worst That Could Happen? WHERE: Edward's Cinemas, Camarillo (off of Las Posas) WHEN: 9:45PM Showing on Friday, June 1, 2001 WHO: Danny DeVito, Martin Lawrence...
This movie was an interesting look at "corruption." With the two leaders (DeVito, Lawrence) being of an upper class, and a lower class - both with the same, nasty habit - stealing, cheating, etc...
It had its moments, but nothing spectacular. I did notice that the makeup on Mr. Lawrence would change constantly, and was very annoying.
"What's the Worst..." revolved around a ring. While Caffrey (LAWRENCE) was robbing Max Fairbanks' (DEVITO) house (which he wasn't supposed to be in), the cops arrived. Fairbanks tells the cops that the ring Caffrey is wearing is his, but it isn't. Caffrey and his gang try various methods to recover the ring... Some funny, some stupid. The gang learns of Fairbanks' moves, and hit his locations. Very creative use of language (especially Leguizamo's monologues).
Alex Tardio (WILLIAM FICHTNER) is the very "colorful" detective assigned to the robberies that keep happening to Fairbanks. The rest of the cast is what help make this movie something to enjoy.
Nothing else to say about this movie. It wasn't my pick. There are other movies currently on that I would have rather seen, but this was decided on. Not that bad, but not something you would want to grab your family and friends to see.
