Nicholas Carr, in his article to Harvard Business Review, makes some fairly sweeping and strong statements as to the vanishing strategic advantage of IT in the business place The crux of his argument is that IT is now fundamentally an infrastructure technology - which provides no strategic advantage..

Carr has it only partially right.
