News: Reagan's Body to Begin Journey to Washington, D.C.
Posted by: Jas Batra on Tuesday, June 08, 2004 - 01:02 AM PST
US News Simi Valley, CA - With at least a 4 hour wait, many were unable to pay their final respects as the public viewing services concluded...

Moorpark College, located a few miles from the Ronald Reagan Library, was closed to allow visitors to park. Meanwhile, nearly 30 busses would shuttle visitors to the library to pay their last respects to the former actor, California governor, and President of the United States.

Public viewing of the closed casket was completed Tuesday evening. Wednesday morning, a motorcade will escort the former President's body to the Point Mugu Naval Base from where it will be flown to Andrews Air Force Base. Upon arrival, a funeral procession will proceed to the U.S. Capitol where a state funeral ceremony will occur.

On Friday morning, the body will return to the Reagan Library for a private burial service.
