Newbury Park, CA - Orbitz, the number two travel reservation site, went down early Wednesday morning due to a database problem...
Still down as of this writing, the site, which is owned by numerous major airline companies, stopped responding to requests at about 3 A.M. PST.
The cause is due to a problem with their Oracle database software. Orbitz and Oracle both said they were working to resolve the issue but did not predict when that would be. Oracle said in a statement that no customer data had been lost.
